Producer Vijay Babu has responded to the ongoing dispute between Sandra Thomas and the leadership of the producers' association, following the rejection of her nomination for a key position in the upcoming elections.

The association maintains that Sandra is ineligible to contest for the posts of president or treasurer, citing that she has only two films to her credit under her own banner, Sandra Thomas Productions. They argue that she cannot claim to have produced more than three films, as the rights to the movies made under Friday Film House — the company she co-founded with Vijay Babu — are now solely under his name.

Sandra and Vijay Babu had jointly established Friday Film House, which produced several successful films, including 'Philips and the Monkey Pen' and 'Annmariya Kalippilanu.' However, Sandra eventually parted ways with the company and launched her independent production house.

Sandra, however, has approached a sub-court and submitted documents to prove her eligibility, arguing that the films produced under Friday Film House before she split from the banner in 2016, were censored in her name. Vijay Babu, on Sunday, however, claimed that Sandra is ineligible to contest the elections to the president’s post since the censorship certificate is given to the production company and not to an individual. In a Facebook post, Vijay said Sandra presently has the eligibility to contest to the executive committee, wishing her luck for the same.
