The trailer of ‘Param Sundari’ directed by Tushar Jalota is out and features Janhvi Kapoor playing a Malayali woman falling in love with Sidharth Malhotra, who plays a Delhi-based youth. The trailer suggests the film was shot mostly in Kerala, set against the backdrop of monsoon-drenched roads, backwater bike rides, and centuries-old churches.

While the film is touted as an out-and-out romantic comedy, it also shines a light on the culture clash and contrast in their life philosophies. Janhvi’s monologue on the South Indian stars at the end of the climax has gone viral on social media, winning her plenty of praise and also some hate.

Many appreciated her dialogue-delivery and style while she utters a monologue slamming the North Indian community for generalising "South Indians when there is a Mohanlal Kerala Malayalam, Rajinikanth in Tamil, Allu Arjun in Telugu, and (Karnataka) Kannada Yash.” Reacting to the trailer, one of the netizens wrote, “It looks like a fun entertainer, smiling throughout the trailer. Can’t wait to watch it on the big screen.”

Another one penned, "Janhvi’s dialogue at the end was too funny... such a fun romantic movie after a long time. Old Bollywood is back!" However, others poked fun at Janhvi’s dialogue comparing her dialect with the character Shalini Unnikrishnan in Kerala Story. “If the intent was to slam the North Indians for always generalising the South Indian community, they should have cast a Malayali actor to play the role in the first place and not a Tamil-Punjabi actress,” one person said on Instagram.

Along with Janhvi and Sidharth, 'Param Sundari' also features Renji Panicker, Siddhartha Shankar, Manjot Singh, Sanjay Kapoor, and Inayat Verma in supporting roles. The technical cast of the film includes Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran as the cinematographer, Manish Pradhan as the editor, and Sachin–Jigar as the music composer. Made under the direction of Tushar Jalota, ‘Param Sundari is expected to get a theatrical release on August 29.
