After the all-time Malayalam blockbuster ‘Manjummel Boys’, director Chidambaram has announced his next project titled ‘Balan’. The film was launched with a pooja ceremony held in Kovalam, attended by the cast and crew.

The screenplay is penned by Jithu Madhavan, who made his mark with the hits ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham’. ‘Balan’ will feature a completely fresh cast of newcomers, chosen through auditions.

The film is being jointly produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films. Interestingly, ‘Balan’ also marks the Malayalam debut of KVN Productions, a banner currently backing the Tamil big-budget film ‘Jana Nayagan’ starring Thalapathy Vijay, as well as the Kannada epic ‘Toxic’, directed by Geethu Mohandas and starring Yash.

On the technical side, the film brings together an acclaimed crew. Sushin Shyam will compose the music, Shyju Khalid handles cinematography, and Vivek Harshan will take charge of editing.
