Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films is gearing up for a big Onam release with its seventh production, 'Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra'. The film has cleared censorship with a U/A certificate and is all set to hit theatres worldwide on August 28.
Directed and written by Dominic Arun, the film is mounted on a massive scale and marks the beginning of a new superhero cinematic universe titled 'Lokah'. The first chapter, 'Chandra', introduces audiences to a world that Malayalam cinema has not explored before.
At the centre of the story is Kalyani Priyadarsan, who steps into the role of Chandra, the superhero around whom the film revolves. Naslen joins her as Sunny, while Tamil actor Sandy plays Inspector Nachiyappa Gowda. Chandhu appears as Venu, Arun Kurian as Nigel, and the cast also includes Shanti Balachandran and Sharafudheen.
The makers have already given audiences a taste of what is to come. The first look poster, teaser, and the promo track 'Thani Lokah Murakkari' have stirred excitement online. The teaser, with its grand visuals and striking score, created a strong buzz across social media, setting expectations sky-high.
With its multi-part universe in the making, 'Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra' is being released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. In Kerala, Wayfarer Films will handle the release, while leading distributors are bringing the film to theatres across the rest of India.
