‘Lokah’ which continues to strike gold at the box-office, has now become the second-highest-grossing Malayalam film ever, beating Mollywood blockbusters ‘Thudarum’ and Manjummel Boys’. As per Sacnilk, a leading box office tracking website, Kalyani Priyadarshan’s fantasy superhero film ‘Lokah’, directed by Dominic Arun overtook Manjummel Boys (241+ crores worldwide), which stunned the trade last year with a record box office run.

The film, outgrossed Mohanlal's Thudarum (235+ crores worldwide) on the 17th day, pushing the Tharun Moorthy film into fourth position as the fourth biggest Mollywood blockbuster of all-time, Sacnilk reports.

‘Lokah’ overtook Manjummel Boys (241+ crores worldwide), on its 18th day, owing to good theatrical reception during the third weekend. If all goes well, the film could also supersede Mohanlal's Empuraan (267 crores worldwide) to become the number 1 Malayalam film ever. After 18 days, the superhero blockbuster has grossed approximately 248+ crores globally, including around 140 crores domestically, as per Sacnilk

Kalyani Priyadarshan won hearts playing the role of Chandra, a modern reimagining of Neeli, a yakshi from Kerala folkore. Chandra’s younger character played by Durga C Vinod equally mesmerised the audience with her performance as the young Kalliyankattu Neeli.
