On her father’s 40th birthday, actress Kavya Madhavan shared a heartfelt note remembering him. Kavya revealed that this was her first birthday without her father and expressed how the memories of his love and guidance continue to bring her comfort. Along with the note, she shared beautiful childhood photographs of herself with her father.
“Every birthday, every memory I hold dear, was unforgettable thanks to my father’s presence. Today is the first birthday without him. The memories of my father, who gave me lasting love and cherished moments, are what comfort me on this day,” Kavya wrote.
Kavya’s father, P. Madhavan, passed away in June this year. From the very beginning of her career in cinema, he was a constant source of support, standing firmly by her side. He accompanied her to stages and film sets during her childhood, providing strength and encouragement every step of the way. In numerous interviews, Kavya has often spoken about her father and his unwavering support. Her journey from the village of Neeleswaram to becoming a celebrated actress across South India is also a testament to the lifetime of effort and guidance from Madhavan.
P. Madhavan was a textile shop owner in Neeleswaram, Kasaragod, running Supriya Textiles. Despite the demands of managing a business, he always made time to support his daughter’s aspirations. Kavya, the daughter of Madhavan and Shyamala, shone as a star in school and cultural festivals from a young age.
Even in the face of controversies and unexpected personal challenges, her father remained a source of strength. Kavya has often expressed that both her mother, Shyamala, and her father, Madhavan, are the foundation of who she is today.
