Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 60th birthday on Sunday with the grand title reveal of his much-awaited film ‘King’. The announcement video opens with an aerial view of an island facility, setting the stage for a gritty, action-packed narrative.
For most of the teaser, SRK’s voice-over runs in sync with high-octane visuals until his face is revealed as the fearsome titular character. The narration establishes him as a ruthless mercenary who has lost track of his victims and no longer distinguishes between good and evil.
The teaser brims with stylised action and intense violence, culminating in the striking moment when SRK appears in a silver-haired look with cropped hair. The actor, fondly known as King Khan, takes on the role with unrelenting ferocity. His chilling line — “100 desho’n mein badnaam, duniya ne diya sirf ek hi naam”, ‘KING’ — reinforces his character’s dominance and dread across continents.
A standout visual from the teaser shows SRK brandishing a King of Hearts card as a weapon — a clever nod to his long-standing reputation as the King of Hearts on and off screen. ‘King’ marks Shah Rukh Khan’s second collaboration with director-producer Siddharth Anand after ‘Pathaan’. The film promises to be a high-octane, stylish action entertainer — touted to be Anand’s most mass-appealing project yet — taking his brand of cinematic spectacle to new heights.
Jointly produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, ‘King’ is slated for release in 2026. Meanwhile, Mumbai is abuzz with celebrations as fans and celebrities from across industries flood social media with birthday wishes for the superstar.
