Veteran filmmaker Bhadhran has heaped praise on director Rahul Sadasivan’s 'Dies Irae' and its lead actor Pranav Mohanlal, describing both as remarkable. The director, known for his keen cinematic insight, said the film’s making kept him — and the audience — on edge from start to finish.

“Rahul Sadasivan’s 'Bhoothakaalam' felt like an extraordinary film when I first watched it. Later came 'Bramayugam', which was equally commendable. And now, for some reason, I felt an instant urge to watch 'Dies Irae' as soon as it was released. Though these films share similar genres, each stands apart in the way the story is told. When a genuine idea is backed by a solid script, it keeps the audience on the edge of their seats — myself included. Well done, Rahul!” Bhadhran wrote.

He also lauded Pranav Mohanlal’s performance, comparing it to that of legendary Hollywood actor Al Pacino. “Pranav delivered a fresh and powerful performance throughout. He reminded me of Al Pacino, who amazed Hollywood in the ’80s and ’90s. Without relying on the usual loudness or theatrics often seen in mainstream films, he understood that true acting lies in expression, not in attire or showiness. He stayed completely true to the character from start to finish. Hey Pranav, you truly are Lal’s boy!” he added.

Bhadhran further praised the film’s technical finesse, appreciating its editing, sound design and background score. “The sharp editing, the silences, the sound design, and the brilliantly balanced background score made the film even more engaging. My heartfelt congratulations to Christo — sky is the limit, man!” he noted.
