‘Pongala,' starring Sreenath Bhasi in the lead role, will make history as the first Malayalam film to release in theatres on a Sunday, November 30. Written and directed by AB Binil, the film is produced by Deepu Bose and Anil Pillai under the banners of Global Pictures Entertainment and Junior 8, with Dona Thomas serving as co-producer. Grace Film Company has secured the distribution rights for the movie.

Set against a socially and politically relevant backdrop, 'Pongala' is an action-thriller that also incorporates elements of comedy. Sreenath Bhasi stars in this gripping tale, based on a real-life incident, following his success in the global hit ‘Manjummel Boys.’ The film was shot in the picturesque locations of Vypin and Cherayi, adding to its visual appeal.

The story of Pongala is inspired by an event that took place at the Vypin–Munambam harbour in the year 2000. The film features a stellar ensemble cast, including Yami Sona, Baburaj, Sudheer Karamana, Sadiq, Sampath Ram, Alencier, Kichu Tellus, Surya Krish, Indrajith Jagajith, Jeemon George, Murukan Martin, Sminu Sijo, Shantakumari, and Renu Sundar.

The cinematography is handled by Jackson, with Ajas Pookodan serving as the editor. The music for Pongala is composed by Ranjin Raj, while Surya Sekhar has designed the costumes, and Akhil T. Raj has done the makeup. The film's art direction is by Nitheesh Acharya. Seven Arts Mohan is the production controller for the film.

The action sequences in 'Pongala' are choreographed by renowned action directors Mafia Sasi, Raja Sekhar, and Prabhu Jacky, while Vijaya Rani is responsible for the dance choreography. Manju Gopinath handles public relations, and digital promotions are managed by Obscura Entertainment and Oprah. Jijesh Vadi has captured the stills for the movie, and Arjun Jiby is in charge of the design work. The movie's marketing is overseen by Bringfoth.
