Actor Anikha Surendran has shared her excitement over a heartwarming moment with Mammootty during the pre-release event of his upcoming film ‘Kalamkaval’. The young actor, who played the superstar’s daughter in Haneef Adeni’s ‘The Great Father’, said she never expected Mammootty to call her on stage and ask for a picture.

Posting a video of the moment on Instagram, Anikha wrote that she “never in her wildest dreams” imagined Mammootty would invite her up in front of the crowd. She added that she had “a full mental breakdown on the way up to the stage” because of how overwhelmed she felt. “How is life even real? Don’t know where I'd be if I wasn’t ‘Mammokkede molu’. Forever grateful,” she wrote.

Jithin K Jose’s ‘Kalamkaval’, starring Mammootty and Vinayakan, is set to release on December 5. The film has been cleared with a U/A certificate and has built strong anticipation after the release of its teaser. The teaser opens with a tense exchange at a doorway and then shifts to glimpses of both lead actors — Vinayakan as a stern police officer and Mammootty in an enigmatic, composed avatar.

The film, written by Jithin K Jose and Jishnu Sreekumar, was completed in November last year. Faisal Ali handles cinematography, Praveen Prabhakar edits the film, and Mujeeb Majeed composes the music. Action Santhosh has choreographed the stunts. The makers have hinted that ‘Kalamkaval’ will present Mammootty in a role unlike anything he has done before, adding to the curiosity surrounding the film.
