Will be answerable if Dileep serves notice: B Unnikrishnan reacts to Bhagyalakshmi’s resignation

Director B Unnikrishnan, general secretary of the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), said he has not yet received a formal resignation letter from voice artist Bhagyalakshmi. She had announced her resignation on Tuesday after FEFKA’s response to the verdict acquitting Dileep in the actress assault case, accusing the FEFKA general secretary of acting hastily to reinstate Dileep in the association.
“I only addressed the technical aspects of the union. We have consistently maintained a strong stance against accused individuals in various cases, including Dileep’s. However, now that he has been acquitted, there is no justification to deny his return to the association. If Dileep were to serve a notice against the association, claiming we denied his basic rights to rejoin, I would be answerable. Bhagyalakshmi’s accusations are emotional and unfounded—her claim that we never supported the survivor is baseless, as we refrained from making any statements before the verdict,” he told Onmanorama.
Bhagyalakshmi, in her statements during a press meet in Thiruvananthapuram, said she is extremely disappointed with FEFKA and other associations that are willing to take Dileep back into their fold. She also said she prefers to call Dileep an accused in the case, despite his acquittal because she still believes he is not innocent in the actress assault case.
