Voice artist and actor Bhagyalakshmi has resigned from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) in protest against the move to reinstate actor Dileep into film bodies. She openly criticised the organisations, saying they are treating the sessions court verdict as final and refusing to consider the possibility of appeals in the High Court or Supreme Court.

"Reinstating Dileep based solely on the sessions court judgment, without considering the possibility of appeals in the High Court or Supreme Court, is deeply troubling,” said Bhagyalakshmi, who was a prominent member of FEFKA. “I will not be part of any organisation in the Malayalam film industry since many influential members of industry associations were supporting the accused. I made the decision to step away when I saw that several members of FEFKA were standing by the predator, rather than the survivor.”

On Monday, FEFKA president B Unnikrishnan stated that the association might consider re-admitting Dileep, given that he has been acquitted in the case. “Technically, as per the court's judgment, he is entitled to exercise his rights as an artist. We have not yet reached out to Dileep regarding his return. If he submits a formal request, we will convene a committee to discuss the matter,” Unnikrishnan said. FEFKA president Sibi Malayil added that he would only respond after thoroughly reviewing the situation.
