Actor Parvathy Thiruvothu has expressed her unwavering solidarity and support for the survivor in the actress assault case following the trial court’s verdict. In an Instagram story, Parvathy thanked the many women who had sent messages of encouragement and support to the survivor, noting that these messages help remind the survivor she is not alone. Parvathy, who described herself as shocked by the verdict, emphasised that the issue extends beyond the individual case, affecting society as a whole. She explained that she was sharing these messages to ensure the survivor feels supported and uplifted.
“I am reading all your messages. Thank you for taking the time to write about how this verdict has shocked and affected you, because it truly impacts all of us. With your privacy in mind, I am sharing some of your messages so we can all feel supported and united, and so our girl knows we are here for her,” Parvathy wrote on Instagram.
She also called out a woman who advised her to focus on her career instead of supporting the assaulted actress. In response, Parvathy replied, “Leave this matter? No. Focus on my career? I'll focus on whatever the hell I want. You can chill. Might I suggest you look in the mirror and ask yourself what makes you belittle someone else's trauma by comparing it to something more or less?"
Actors Parvathy, Rima and Remya Nambeesan, who are prominent members of the Women in Cinema Collective have reacted to the verdict in the actress assault case, which was announced on December 8, through social media posts. Their posts reaffirmed their support for the survivor, who they believe is yet to receive justice in the case.
