Mollywood hit ‘Eko’ locks OTT release date and it’s nearer than you think

One of Mollywood's biggest hits, Eko, directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written by Bahu Ramesh, has officially announced its OTT release date. Featuring Narain, Ashokan, Vineeth, and Sandeep Pratheep in key roles, the film had a highly successful theatrical run, grossing nearly ₹50 crore.

Produced by the makers of the hit ‘Kishkindha Kandam’ series, ‘Eko’ is part of the Animal Trilogy, which also includes ‘Kerala Crime Files Two’. In ‘Kishkindha Kandam,’ the story revolved around a monkey, while ‘Crime Files Two’ featured a dog. In Eko, the plot centres on Malaysian dogs and a mysterious breeder, adding a fresh layer of intrigue to the series.

The film's stellar ensemble cast of veteran actors only heightened the excitement surrounding its release. Despite the high anticipation, Eko exceeded expectations, earning praise from both critics and audiences alike for its gripping narrative and strong performances.

The film will stream on Netflix starting December 31, in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. According to the makers, the title 'Eko' symbolises how what may appear to be a restriction can sometimes act as protection, exploring the psychological dynamics between dogs and humans.
