Menaka Suresh shared a proud family moment on social media, posting a video of her daughter Revathy Suresh’s chenda melam debut. The ceremony, held at the Attukal Devi Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, saw Revathy — the elder daughter of Menaka and film producer Suresh Kumar — formally step into the world of percussion. The milestone also marked a new artistic chapter for Revathy, who has previously been seen performing on dance stages.

Sharing the video, Menaka wrote, “My daughter Revathy Suresh’s chenda arangettram at Attukal Devi Kshethram today,” a post that was soon met with warm messages and wishes from members of the film fraternity and fans alike.

Revathy Suresh is a multi-faceted talent who has steadily carved a space for herself across disciplines. A film producer, visual effects artist and trained classical dancer, she has largely chosen to work behind the camera, unlike her younger sister Keerthy Suresh, who pursued acting. Revathy spent several years working as an associate director with filmmaker Priyadarshan and made her directorial debut with the short film ‘Thank You’.

Her filmography also includes work in the production and technical departments of projects such as ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’, ‘Vaashi’ and Mohanlal’s ‘Barroz’, in addition to several Bollywood films. Revathy currently heads the Kalamandir Film Academy and is also a disciple of renowned classical dancer Dr Padma Subrahmanyam.
