Here's why Kasturi and Latha are fighting over MGR

Kasturi, MGR and Latha

Well, it's just a simple case involving IPL! It all began with the 23rd match of IPL played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. CSK won the match by 7 wickets with 16 balls to spare, however the CSK batsmen played slow with a low scoring match.

Actress Kasthuri, dissatisfied by the slow batting of CSK, tweeted comparing CSK batsmen's slow batting to MGR touching actress Latha in the yesteryear flick 'Pallandu Vaazhga'.

“CSK are doing romance with the ball more than MGR did with Latha in Pallandu Vaazhga”, she wrote and netizens lashed at her for the tweet.

Later, actress Latha herself strongly condemned Kasthuri for her remarks. Latha was quoted by a daily who said, “Kasthuri’s comment is very distasteful. I strongly condemn her words. Despite belonging to the same industry, it comes as a surprise that she is making such unpleasant remark. And that too on a legendry actor like MGR. I have been getting calls from several of Makkal Thilagam fans asking me as how I tolerate such things. I also saw many Facebook and blog pages of the iconic actor/politician who are annoyed with Kasthuri’s comment and condemned her. I am there in the filmy field for more than 45 years. I have never ever heard anyone talking about me like this. It is better she controls her tongue.”

'What’s wrong in MGR acting in sensuous romantic scenes with his heroines?', asked Kasturi

No sooner, Kasthuri posted another tweet justifying her earlier statement. “What’s wrong in MGR acting in sensuous romantic scenes with his heroines? And what’s wrong in me giving it as example? Where does indecency come here? I am one among innumerable fans of Vathiyaar’s (MGR) romantic songs and scenes. I have no intention of criticizing him in any manner. I strongly object the allegations that I have degraded their ‘Deivam’ (God). It is incorrect just to hail MGR as a leader and god but to hide his histrionic history. However if my tweet had hurt anyone, I regret for the same.”

We rest our case here!
