Actor Vinayakan disclosed through social media that he has snapped the relationship with his wife Babita. He has, however, stopped short of asserting the reason behind his decision.

In a video shared on social media handles, the actor said: "I am Malayalam actor Vinayakan. From this moment onwards all the marital ties and legal relationships with my wife stands annulled. Thanks to everyone." Babita is a bank employee.

Vinayakan made his entry into Malayalam filmdom in 1995 through Mohanlal-starrer 'Manthrikam' directed by Thampi Kannanthanam. His rise in Malayalam cinema has been slow and steady and he went on to win the Kerala State Award for the best actor in 2016 for his performance in the Rajeev Ravi film 'Kammatipaadam'.

Movies like 'Thottappan', in which he played the titular role, 'Ee. Ma. Yau', 'Aadu 2', and 'Pada' shot his prominence to greater heights as a brilliant actor in South Indian cinema.

Rajinikanth-starrer Tamil movie 'Jailer' is his upcoming movie.
