2019 has been an excellent year for actor Chemban Vinod Jose who essayed some amazing roles on screen. As he completes his 10th year in cinema, Chemban opens up about his personal life and career in a special interview with Nere Chovve in Manorama News. The actor also spoke about his divorce in the interview.

When asked whether Chemban’s life style involved enjoying good food, drinking alcohol and doing heavy workouts, the actor had a quirky response. “I am not someone who is on his way to disaster. I have been wayward in my actions and am back on tracks now. So nothing is going to affect me personally or ideologically. As a native of Angamaly, I am crazy about food. We really enjoy beef and pork dishes. I like to eat the delicious dishes prepared lovingly by my mother, as much as I want and fall asleep on the couch,” said Chemban.

About his habit of consuming alcohol, Chemban said that he was buying alcohol using the money that he earns and by paying its taxes to the government. “I buy the alcohol that the government sells through its outlets and drink it at my own home. Why should anyone have complaints about me drinking, sitting at my house? I could have understood if it was creating nuisance for the public. There is no need to be voyeuristic about it. I clearly know that I am an erratic person. Then why should anyone peep into my life. I could tell you everything if you ask me directly,” laughs Chemban.

“I live in India and my son is living with his mother in the United States. He is ten years old. I am upset that he is not with me. I visit him when it is summer vacation there and we often speak over the phone as well. He watches most of my movies. I really wish I could see and be with him always. But I cannot go leaving this job. In a country like America, it is common for children to live with single mothers or separated parents. Even if he is your child, he should be given his own space. I believe that he could understand all these,” says Chemban.
