All romantic films deal with a recurring theme – love. However, the success of the movie depends on how the theme is presented to the viewers. What makes Anoop Menon's 'Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal' stand apart is the fresh approach it has adopted to narrate a love story.
The film deals with the life of Sanjay, a world-famous chef who runs a restaurant in Kochi. He knows a magical recipe. Sanjay keeps it a secret, but there is a tale of lost love behind this recipe. 'Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal' explains that story.
The film takes viewers to the world of Sanjay and Anjali. Sanjay meets her during his voyages for new recipes. Anjali is a designer, who creates decorative candles. The lead pair's friendship and romance create a magical world.
However, the film shot in the backdrop of Ooty, is not entirely a love story. It also deals with human relationships and ties between generations. Love is a theme that can be easily presented on silver screen, but Anoop Menon has adopted a different approach. He succeeds in his attempt, too. Anoop Menon has prepared the story, screenplay and dialogues for 'Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal.'
A conscious effort has been made to unravel the tale smoothly. Dialogues tug at the heartstrings and many scenes are touching. The film is directed by Suraj Tom, who earlier made 'Pava'. 'Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal' will certainly be a landmark in his career.
The main attraction of the movie is the chemistry between Anoop Menon and Miya. Anjali will undoubtedly be considered among the best roles by Miya.
The other main actors in the film are Alencier, Byju, Manju, Hannah Reji Koshy and Nirmal Palazhi. Directors Lal Jose, Sreekanth Murali, V K Prakash and Dileesh Pothan also appear in small roles.
The music content of the film is also noteworthy. Rahul Raj's BGM and M Jayachandran's music direction merge harmoniously with the film’s theme. With pleasing frames, cinematographer Jithu Damoder also has done an excellent job.
'Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal' is the most well-crafted romantic film to be released recently. It is also a strong comeback for Anoop Menon, the writer, after a few setbacks. The film will certainly please all sections of the audience, especially families.
