The 5-minute long video touches upon various aspects of floods like the onset of rain and its subsequent effect, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation process.

As Kerala builds itself back after the worst floods the state has seen in almost a century, a Kochi-based advertising and music company, She Medias, has released a music video showing how Kerala faced the double whammy of relentless rain and reservoir outflow.

The 5-minute long video touches upon various aspects of floods like the onset of rain and its subsequent effect, rescue, relief, and rehabilitation process. The music video has been ideated, penned and sung by Sarath Mohan. Directed by Sunil Njarakkal, the song that begins like 'Mazhaye ni peythu thornnuvo..?' ('Have you settled yet, rain?') portrays the agony Kerala went through during the four days of heavy rain and floods.

Commenting on the effort, Sarath told Onmanorama that the music video was a humble effort to record the worst deluge Kerala has ever seen and the effort the people have made to restore the status of the state. “We will soon recover from this calamity and resume our normal social life. The pain we underwent during the four days of floods, our collective efforts to rescue our dear and near, and the visuals of the real heroes were necessary to be recorded. Keralites are a group of people who like to associate music with their own experiences. So we have attempted to preserve their feelings through our music album,” he said.

He also announced that the revenue they generate from the social platforms shall be donated to Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). “The money we earn by marketing this song will be donated to CMDRF as well as to those flood victims struggling to rebuild their life,” he added.

Shetty Mani donned camera for the music video which was edited by Jinesh Nandanam and orchestrated by MH Dhanush.
