Darbar is better album than Petta: Rajinikanth

The much awaited audio launch of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar happened on Saturday in a grand event held at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

During the audio launch, Rajinikanth showered praises on music director Anirudh Ravichander and stated that Darbar music is better than Petta. "Most music directors don't have story sense. Ilaiyaraaja has story sense. Anirudh has developed that quality in this early stage of his career. Darbar is a better album than Petta," said Rajinikanth.

Anirudh had also performed some of the songs from the film. He then shared how in his eight-year career he has worked on two of Rajini's film. "A lot of people keep telling that I've given good albums for him. I am ready to lay down my life for him, so won't I give him good songs?", he mentioned.

This is his second film with his uncle after Karthik Subbaraj's hit film Petta. Darbar is an action thriller, directed by AR Murugadoss.
