Movie buffs who watched Ayyappanum Koshiyum can't ever forget how Sachy managed to keep alive the soul of Attapady with folk songs. And Nanjamma, who acted and sang in the movie can't be forgotten as well.
Sachy's untimely demise seems to have shattered the sensational singer. Nanjamma was spotted during the last rites of the late director and was seen crying on seeing Sachy's body.
Nanjamma was seen with Palaniswamy, one of the supporting actors in Ayyappanum Koshiyum who came to Kochi to pay final tributes to the director.
Sachy was the one who identified Nanjamma's talent and helped her introduce in the film world.
Nanjamma used to be a local singer and collaborated with a local cultural troupe, Azad Kalasangam, headed by Palaniswamy and has staged performances across the world. But it was Sachy and his movie Ayyappanum Koshiyum that gave her the big break and got her all the fame.
She penned a few songs for the movie including the viral songs ‘Daivamakale’ and ‘Kalakkatha Sandana Meram’.
