Veteran playback singer G Vengugopal and his son Aravind have launched ‘Melody Two’, a musical cover series that has six soul soothing songs. Each song in the series would be released every fortnight through a Youtube channel called Hridaya Venu.
The father – son duo has recreated the musical covers of some of the evergreen film songs sung by Venugopal for many super hit movies. The first song in the series is ‘Manjin Chirakulla Vellari Prave’ from the movie Swagatham that was released in 1989. The lines of this melodious song were penned by Bichu Thirumala while the music is by Rajamani. MG Sreekumar and Minmini too have sung the song along with Venugopal for the movie.
The cover version rendered by Venugopal and Aravind has already attracted hundreds of admirers. The social media is bombarded with messages and comments that congratulate the singers. Their fans say that they are eagerly waiting for the rest of the songs in the series. The cover versions are composed using a variety of musical instruments in the background without actually losing the soul of the song.
