All you need to know about Sri Lankan voice Yohani Diloka De Silva and viral song Manike Mage Hithe

If you are on social media, you must have come across the insanely popular Sinhala song Manike Mage Hithe by now. The song has created such a buzz that it can be heard everywhere now. 

Manike Mage Hithe is a 2020 Sinhala song by Satheeshan Rathnayaka. The track went viral after Sri Lankan singer Yohani Diloka De Silva’s version was released in May.

The singer, songwriter and rapper is popularly known as Yohani. 

The 1992 Colombo-born talent is famous on TikTok. She is also the first Sri Lankan female singer to have 2.46 million subscribers on YouTube. Before gaining global recognition for her rendition of Manike Mage Hithe, Yohani was famous for her rap cover of Deviyange Bare.

The lyrics of the hit song was written by Dulan ARX. Yohani's rendition became so popular that many bizarre versions of the song in different languages have surfaced online. 

A month back, South Indian actor Prithviraj Sukumaran took to Instagram to share a video in which he can be seen playing the cajon (a musical instrument) to Manike Mage Hithe. His friend can be seen playing the drums. Prithviraj seems to be enjoying jamming to the song.

Sharing the video, he wrote, "Musical nights with JT along with great food! #ChoiceHouse #JT #Drums #cajon #ManikeMageHithe (sic)."

Even celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Tiger Shroff and Madhuri Dixit, among others, couldn’t stop themselves from grooving to the addictive beats of the song.
