Singer Nick Jonas celebrated his 30th birthday in style. There were videos of Nick and his wife Priyanka Chopra taking a private jet to take part in the big birthday celebrations. They refused to disclose the birthday destination. Several people wished the singer on his birthday. Fans were also curious to know why their daughter was missing in the video.
Nick and Priyanka had a baby from surrogacy on January 22nd this year. They have named her Malti Mary Chopra Jonas. ‘Malti’ is a Sanskrit word that means a small fragrant flower or moonlight. They borrowed the name Mary from the Latin word Stella Maris which means the star of the sea. In biblical terms, Mary also means the mother of Jesus Christ.
Reportedly it was Nick who made the first move in September 2016 and send her a direct message on Twitter. They continued to stay in touch. Their first public appearance was at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars after party. And then they showed together at the 2017 Met Gala. Later they made several public appearances together. Eventually, the couple decided to tie the knot in 2018 Dec. Priyanka is 10 years senior to Nick.
And that age gap also invited a lot of criticism from the public. Their wedding took place at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur. They had a Christian and Hindu ceremony to honour each of their family's traditions. While Ralph Lauren designed the suit and gown for the Christian ceremony, the Hindu bridal wear was designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
