The UAE Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa that enables foreigners to live, work and study in the UAE without the need for a national sponsor and with total ownership of their businesses in the UAE's mainland. It is is issued for a period of five or 10 years and will be renewed automatically. The visa was launched in 2019.

Ever since it's launch, the visa was handed over to several cine artists, musicians and producers from Bollywood and the South Indian industry, including Mollywood.

Till recently, only researchers in the fields of science and knowledge such as doctors, specialists, scientists, inventors as well as creative individuals in the filed of culture and art, along with entrepreneurs were among those who were eligible for the visa. The UAE government has now started giving away the Golden Visa to nurses from the health sector.
