Selena Gomez, who recently became the most-followed female celebrity on Instagram, announced her decision to take a break from the social media platform.

The singer-cum-actress, now has 382 million followers on Instagram, beating businesswoman and social media sensation Kylie Jenner, who held the record till recently with 380 million followers.

However, the 'It Ain't Me' and 'We Don't Talk Anymore' singer revealed that she is taking a break from everything. She also feels she is 'too old for this'.

"I'm very happy, I'm so blessed. I have the best friends and the best fans in the whole world and I just couldn't be happier," she reportedly stated on TikTok, the mobile app, which has been banned in India. "I'm good, I love the way I am, I don't care. And yeah, I'm gonna be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly and I'm 30. I'm too old for this. I love you guys so much and I wish to see you guys sooner than later. I just have to take a break from everything," she had said.

The singer has taken similar 'breaks' from social media. Once, she revealed that the negative comments she received on the social media platform had made her depressed.
