Muvattupuzha: A Ketalite music student has won gold in Europe's 3D Audio Production Competition.
Rohith Sakthy, a native of Kadathy in Muvattupuzha, bagged the award in the music recording-studio production category in Europe's sixth 3D Audio Production Competition. The lyrics of the song, titled 'Zoella', was penned by Jose Francis, the son of former MP Francis George. Rohith composed the prize-winning song while he was doing a one-year internship in Germany in 2022. The song has received great responses.
The competition was hosted by the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics (IEM) in Graz, Austria, in partnership with the German Association for Audio Professionals. The final stage of the contest was live streamed to the academic breakout venues across the globe.
The 26-year-old Rohith is the son of M V Baiju, a Cochin Shipyard engineer, and Rekha Devi. After completing BTech from the Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology in Vazhakulam, Rohith enrolled for BSc (Honours) at the University of Huddersfield in London in 2019.
