Tamil rapper Dev Anand kidnapped at knife point, rescued the next day

Chennai: Popular Tamil rapper Dev Anand, who was kidnapped at knife point on the Chennai-Bengaluru highway has been rescued. The artist was returning home with friends after an event, when a two-wheeler hit their car from behind.

A 10-member gang then kidnapped Dev, who had got down from the car to check the damage along with his friends. According to the police, the gang kidnapped Dev at knife point after threatening his friends.

Based on his family’s complaint, Dev was rescued from Pudukkottai, a day later. Five people have also been arrested in connection with the incident. According to a senior police officer from Police headquarters, in Chennai, Dev Anand's brother had taken a loan of Rs 2.5 crore from a person and had not given the money back. There were some disputes regarding the same and police are probing whether this has anything to do with the kidnapping of Dev Anand.
