Father of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala who welcomed a baby boy recently alleged that that he is being harassed by the Mansa district administration to provide documents that prove his newborn son's legitimacy. In a video, which was posted on social media, Sidhu's father Balkaur Singh could be heard pleading with the chief minister to stop harassing the couple. He also asked them to wait for the documents till his wife's treatment is completed.

Last month, Sidhu's parents who were devastated by their only son's death in 2022 had revealed they were expecting a baby. They welcomed a baby boy through IVF treatment recently. Many people, including politicians and celebrities, congratulated the couple. “Because of your blessings, the almighty blessed us by sending Sidhu back to us through Subhdeep. But I am sad since morning. The district administration is harassing me saying I should supply the documents of this child. I am being asked all kinds of questions to prove that this child is legit,” Balkaur said in the video.

Balkaur maintained that he is a law-abiding citizen and that he nor his late son had violated the law in any way. “If the government feels that I have violated any laws of the land, they should file an FIR and put me in jail immediately,” he said.
