Music director Ouseppachan was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the seventh edition of the Mazhavil Music Awards 2025. He received the award from Jerry Amaldev, whose musical style greatly influenced his journey. Reflecting on Amaldev’s impact, Ouseppachan recalled that his biggest hit, 'Unnikale Oru Kadha Parayam,' was composed in Amaldev’s signature style. He also joked that he wasn’t old enough for such an honour, showing his characteristic humour.

The awards night celebrated Malayalam music across multiple categories. Unni Menon received the Golden Voice Award, marking 44 years in music, and shared his happiness at being recognised after a long hiatus. Other winners included M.G. Sreekumar for Best Male Singer for 'Kanmanipoove' from 'Thudarum', while Chinmayi Sripada and Neha S. Nair shared the Best Female Singer award. Sanjith Hegde and Anila Rajeev won Best Duet for 'Duppattavala' from 'Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira'. Jakes Bejoy bagged Best Music Director and Background Score for films including 'Thudarum', 'Loka', 'Narivetta', and 'Officer on Duty', while Manu Manjith won Best Lyricist for 'Venmathiye' and 'Hridayavathil' from 'Hridayapoorvam'. The Song of the Year award went to 'Onam Mood' from 'Saahasam', accepted by Fejo, Himna Hilary, Hinsha Hilary and Bibin Ashok, and Fejo also won the Special Jury Award for 'Heart Attack' from 'Painkili'.

The evening was filled with live performances by Sharreth, Madhu Balakrishnan, Rimi Tomy, Sithara Krishnakumar, Amrutha Suresh and Jyotsna. Comedian Ramesh Pisharody presented a medley of popular hits, while Stephen Devassy and his band provided the musical backdrop, creating a night that celebrated the best of Malayalam music. The show was telecast on December 21, 2025, on Mazhavil Manorama, with a repeat telecast scheduled on December 28, 2025.
