Mammootty lends voice in 'Patriot' track ‘Manushyan’, song out now

As promotions for Patriot continue, a new song from the film has been released, offering a different glimpse into its tone. Titled 'Manushyan', the track is composed by Sushin Shyam and sung by Shakthisree Gopalan, with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar. Mammootty features in the song as well, but not as a singer. Instead, he delivers a short monologue, adding a reflective layer to the track.

The release comes at a time when the film’s campaign is already underway, with its trailer and other promotional material in circulation. Despite the scale of the project and the attention around it, Mammootty and director Mahesh Narayanan have kept the focus on the writing. In their interactions, both have said that the story is the core of the film, rather than any single element around it.

That stance is notable, especially since Patriot also brings Mammootty and Mohanlal together on screen after a long gap. While that reunion has drawn interest, the makers have avoided pushing it as the film’s main selling point, choosing instead to centre the narrative.

The film features an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Revathy, Rajiv Menon, Grace Antony and Darshana Rajendran. The film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1.
