Chopped Canada prize of $10K goes to Keralite sous chef Krish Nair

Krish Nair, the executive sous chef for the Calgary Zoo, took home the 10,000 dollar prize from the popular reality show 'Chopped Canada'. Krish won it with spring salmon, soda water and asparagus, beating three other chefs to emerge the latest winner of the show. Each week four new chefs compete using secret ingredients to make an appetizer, entree and dessert under a strict time limit. The four chefs are then evaluated by a panel of judges who taste the food and eliminate 3 contestants, naming one winner. After getting trained in India, Krish took up his first job at The Savoy, London. The Fairmont Banff Springs brought him to Canada, after which he took up his third stint with Calgari Zoo. Krish Nair is the first Malayali and the second Indian to have bagged the coveted prize.
