‘Uber eats’ makes an entry in Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur

‘Uber eats’, a part of the firm offering the Uber taxi services, has arrived in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur too. The services of the app, which helps users to order dishes from restaurants, are now available at Vazhuthacaud, Thampanoor, Pattom and Ulloor in the state capital. 

To make use of the service, one has to download the Uber eats app from Google Playstore and submit the address. A list of restaurants appears on the screen from where dishes can be ordered. Similar to Uber taxi, the payment can be made with Paytm or during delivery. The status of the order and other details can be obtained from the app.

In Thiruvananthapuram, the restaurants listed in the app are, Paragon, Rajadhani, Supreme Bakers, Azad, Pankayam and MRA Restaurant. C’Sons, India Gate, Ming Palace, Ayush and Alibaba & 41 Dishes are the restaurants in Uber eats’ loop in Thrissur.

As an introductory offer, customers will get 50 % discount on five orders of a maximum bill of Rs 200. For this, the promo code EPIC 50 should be used. The minimum amount of orders is Rs 100. There are facilities for advance booking also.

Uber eats service was started in the US in 2014. In Kerala, the app was successfully introduced earlier in Kochi. With Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur also in the list, the number of cities where the service is available has risen to 23.

Kerala-Karnataka general manager of Uber eats Varthika Bansal and managing partner Vinod S Panicker were present at the event held in connection with launching the app in the two Kerala cities.
