Fans of the Brazil football team can have a free omelette along with lunch from this tea stall on the days the team plays during the ongoing FIFA world cup tournament in Qatar. But, there is a condition. They should be wearing Brazil’s yellow jersey.
The eatery serving this freebie is Ramakrishna Tea Stall located on Kunnathara-Kodathoor Road at Pazhayannur in Thrissur district of Kerala and the man behind it is Pannikuzhi Sreekumar, the shop owner who is an avid Brazil fan.
Keen to turn the games of his favourite team a celebration, Sreekumar has painted the tea stall as well as his house, which is attached to the eatery, in the colours of the Brazilian flag. “I am certain Brazil will lift the world cup this time,” says Sreekumar.
Interestingly, during the previous football world cup in 2018, the tea stall was managed by Sreekumar’s brother Unni, a fan of the Argentina team. At that time, Unni had given the Argentina flag’s colours to the shop. The free omelette too was offered to customers in the Argentina team’s jersey!
