“The Beach Road and Bhatt Road got swarmed with school children even before the youth festival was flagged off. Do not forget to try the tasty ice orathi in case you are visiting the beach,” says Reena Janardhanan who sells ice orathi or shaved ice at the beach.

Meanwhile, P P Shafeek who owns a shop at the Halwa Bazar speaks about the rich tradition of making delicious halwa. “No one should leave Kozhikode without knowing the rich taste of halwa. The sweetness should remain in your memory forever,” notes Shafeek.

“Some people say that making sarbath here is an art. Our quaint shop is close to the Paragon Hotel. Won’t you come to taste our classic milk sarbath?” asks Anand Kumar who makes milk sarbath at Bhaskarettante Kada, which is known for their delicious drinks.

Noufal Panniyankara, an auto driver in the city is ready offer a ride around the city in case anyone wishes to explore the historic place. “It would be a fun ride to visit Mananchira and Mittayitheruvu before seeing Muthalakkulam and the Kallayi bridge,” says Noufal.
