The tangyness of lemon pervades this rice. This rice keeps for long and is great if you want to pack rice for travel.
Ingredients
¼ kg jeera rice/small grained white rice
½ tsp black gram
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ tsp fenugreek seeds
A pinch of cumin seeds
2-3 button onions
1 small piece of ginger, minced
1 tsp crushed black pepper
2-3 red chillies
2 sprigs curry leaves
1 lemon
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt, as required
Preparation
Cook the rice and keep it ready
Heat oil
Add black gram, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, cumin seeds, ginger, crushed pepper, red chillies, curry leaves, button onions and turmeric powder
Squeeze in the lemon juice
Add enough salt
Toss in the cooked rice into the pan and saute well
