Ghee Rice

The simplest, yet toothsome ghee rice, that doubles the flavour of everything else that you have with it.

Ingredients

½ cup ghee

1 cup onion, sliced thin

3 pieces of cinnamon, one inch each

5 cardamom pods

6 cloves

1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

2 cups biriyani rice or white rice, soaked for an hour, dried off water

4 cups boiling water

Salt, as required

½ cup mixed dry fruits (cashew nuts and raisins)

Preparation

Pour ghee in a pan

Add the cloves, cinnamon and cardamom

Put in the onions and saute until they turn brown

Add the soaked rice to it and saute well

Add enough salt and mix well

Pour in the boiling water to the pan

Close with a lid and let it cook

Once cooked, sprinkle the dry fruits and blend well on low flame

Keep it closed for a while until all the water has evaporated
