Aloo ki kadhi is the perfect dish to celebrate Navratri

Aloo ki kadhi is a popular North Indian dish with thick gravy, which is consumed by people during the Navrathri 'vrat.' The dish which has potato and sour curd as the main ingredients is easy to prepare as well.

Ingredients
For the potato balls
1 potato (cooked and mashed)
1 cup gram flour
1/4 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp green chillies
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp rock salt
For the gravy
2 tbsp ghee
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp green chillies
500 ml sour curd
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp asafoetida
2 tsp gram flour

Preparation
Into the mashed potato, add ginger, green chillies, gram flour, chilli powder, and rock salt
Mix well
Make small potato balls from the mixture
Heat oil in a pan and fry the potato balls into golden brown
Keep it aside
In another pan, heat ghee
Add cumin, ginger, and green chillies
Sauté well
With medium flame on, add the sour curd slowly without forming any lumps
Add chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, gram flour, and salt as required
Mix well
Add the fried potato balls into it
Turn off the flame when the gravy boils
Tastes best when served hot with chapathi or roti.
