Fish podimas aka spicy fish stir fry for lunch

Podimas or fried fish crumble is a delicious side dish that can be enjoyed with rice. Here is how to make it:

Ingredients
250 gms fish
2 medium onions (chopped)
1 tsp garlic
2 green chilies (chopped)
2 sprigs curry leaves
1 tsp chili powder
½ tsp coriander powder
½ tsp fennel powder
¾ tsp pepper powder
½ tsp turmeric powder
Juice of half a lemon
½ tsp mustard seeds
½ cup water
Salt as required
1/5 tbsp coconut oil

Preparation
Wash and clean the fish
Cook the cleaned fish with ¼ tsp turmeric powder and salt in half cup water
Transfer the cooked fish into another vessel
Pick out the fish bones
Heat oil in a pan
Splutter the mustard seeds
Sauté the ginger and garlic
Add the onions, green chilies, some curry leaves and salt
Sauté well until the onions turn brown
Lower the flame before adding chili powder, coriander powder, fennel powder, pepper powder and turmeric powder
Sauté well until the raw smell of the powders is gone
Add the cooked fish
Mix well
Now add the lemon juice
Mix and stir until the water reduces and the dish is dry
Delicious fish podimas is ready
