Wheat often gets a lot of flak for the presence of the protein gluten. However, if you are someone whose body can tolerate it, wheat can be a good source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber.

For those who like to have our traditional, basic desserts once in a while, wheat powder aka atta laddoo can be an easy option. Make these plump laddoos with the basic ingredients and enjoy.

Ingredients
1 ½ cups wheat powder
¼ cup semolina
1 cup sugar
4 cardamom pods
¾ cup melted ghee
½ cup nuts of your choice

Preparation
Toast the nuts in a hot pan for five minutes
Crumble them in a mixer jar after it has cooled down
Powder cardamom and sugar too
In a thick bottomed pan, mix ghee, wheat powder and semolina
Now roast them on low flame
The wheat flour would turn light brown in colour and the ghee begins to separate after 15 – 20 minutes
Turn off the flame before adding the crumbled nuts
Keep this mixture aside for 20 minutes to cool down
Add powdered sugar when the mixture is still lightly hot
Mix well
Grease your palms with some ghee
Make small balls from the mixture
Delicious wheat flour laddoo is ready.
