He sought immediate medical care after reaching Kolkata. He has been experiencing breathing difficulties. Large blisters have also started appearing on his leg.

First aid for insect bites
Upon noticing an insect bite or sting, it is important to take a few basic steps to prevent it from developing into a serious illness, even if you don't see the exact bug or feel uncomfortable. Here are a few recommended by the Cleveland Clinic.

a) Wash and disinfect the bitten skin area immediately. This reduces the risk of bacterial infection.
b) Draw a circle around the bitten area to track any signs of spreading infection, swelling or redness.
c) Check whether any vector/insect is embedded in the area and remove it with disinfected tweezers at the earliest.
