In recent years, conscious living has become highly quantified. We track our calorie intake, measure our daily steps, and log our gym sessions with meticulous precision. But does true health begin and end with these metrics? What about our sleep quality, mood fluctuations, midday slumps, and the subtle factors that derail our exercise routines? While starting a healthy lifestyle is relatively simple, maintaining it amid a busy schedule, high stress, and irregular sleep remains a major hurdle.

Addressing these deeper lifestyle complexities is a new app with a Kerala connection. Trackt, a novel preventive healthcare application, is designed under the leadership of Kerala-based medical professional Dr Bishnu Ravi. Developed by Thiruvananthapuram-based healthtech startup Glianomics, the platform aims to empower individuals to make sustainable, lifelong adjustments to their wellness habits.

From the operating theatre to everyday wellness
The concept for Trackt took root during Dr Bishnu Ravi's professional duties as a consultant anaesthetist. In an operating theatre, a patient's vital markers—from heart rate and oxygen saturation to real-time blood pressure—are continuously and meticulously monitored. Dr Bishnu questioned why a similar proactive monitoring mechanism couldn't be brought into daily life to track wellness indicators before a clinical illness actually manifests. The goal was simple: shift the focus from reactive treatment after falling ill to continuous preventive tracking during everyday life.

Bridging the gap with behavioural science
Unlike standard fitness applications that function as automated calculators for calorie tracking or step logging, Trackt takes a different approach. It integrates predictive algorithms with behavioural science to examine not just what a user is doing, but why.

Most health journeys fail not because people lack goals, but because daily stressors and fatigue interfere with habit loops. By identifying subtle patterns, such as a drop in physical activity following successive days of poor sleep, Trackt alerts users to potential lapses in their wellness journey before they fully relapse into old, unhealthy routines.

The input requirements for users are streamlined and user-friendly. In addition to basic entries, the application analyses continuous real-time data, such as heart rate variability, collected from smartwatches and other wearable devices. However, users must note that for diagnosed chronic illnesses or active medical treatments, any changes to diet, exercise, or lifestyle habits must be made only in consultation with qualified healthcare professionals.

Supporting metabolic health and weight management
As contemporary metabolic health programmes and weight management treatments gain popularity, lifestyle modifications have never been more critical. Trackt supports individuals in these programmes by tracking physiological shifts, monitoring metabolic adaptation, and helping them build sustainable lifestyle habits that complement their therapies over the long term.

A commitment to data privacy
Because healthcare data is highly sensitive, Glianomics built Trackt with a robust 'privacy-first' architecture, ensuring all user health details remain secure and protected. Glianomics, co-founded by Dr Bishnu Ravi alongside Dr Prashanth Rajappan, operates under the incubation programme of the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). By merging clinical insights with behavioural psychology, the startup aims to humanise digital healthcare. Trackt is currently available for download on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
