Pinarayi: The police are ready to give a mouthful to the social media users who circulated a fake photo that showed chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan feasting on a plantain leaf in the newly inaugurated police station in his home town on June 30.

In the edited photo, the chief minister is seen scooping up a ball of rice as the top cops stand watching by him, whereas he was actually examining the general diary after inaugurating the police station. The online defamation has been registered as the third case in the new police station.

The photo also shows director general of police Lokanath Behera, inspector general Balram Kumar Upadhyay, additional director general of police Anil Kanth, district police chief G Shiv Vikram and the local station house officer A V Dineshan standing in attendance by Pinarayi.
