Kodungallur: Malayalam film producer and production controller Shafeer Sait passed away at a private hospital here early morning on Tuesday. He was declared dead following a cardiac arrest.

He was 44 and leaves behind two kids and wife Aisha.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday evening at 4.30 pm at Cheraman Juma Masjid, Kodungallur.

He was with his family on the sets of 'Porinchu Mariyam Jose', directed by Joshiy, till last midnight. After pack-up Sait felt uneasiness and was taken to hospital where he felt chest pain followed by heart attack.

He has produced movies inlcuding 'Chapters' (2012) and 'Onnum Mindaathe' (2014). He co-produced Sreenivasan-starrer 'Aathmakatha' with Santhosh Pavithram and Vidya Santhosh.

Sait had also served as production controller of many hit movies like 'Kayamkulam Kochunni'. He was also seen in many minor roles as well.

Sait will be seen in a cameo appearance in the upcoming Nadirshah directorial 'Mera Naam Shaji' which is slated to hit screens on April 5.
