Veteran singer of Mappila Paattu Eranholi Moosa (75) passed away on Monday at his residence at Gopalpet in Thalassery in Kerala's Kannur district.

The singer was undergoing treatment for the past one month at a private hospital in Kozhikode as he was afflicted with pulmonary diseases.

As there was no improvement in treatment, Moosa was shifted to his house a few weeks earlier for rest.

Noted for many famous numbers like 'Manassinteyullil ninnu' and 'Arimulla punchiri' and many others, Moosa began his singing stint with stage programmes.
