A relationship that blossomed on altruism during floods

Their compassion and solicitude for others brought them together, and after one year of courtship K S Sujay and Sneha R V Haripad will exchange their wedding vows on December 12. It all started, quite ironically, during the great deluge of August last year.

Sneha, who is the Kerala state vice-president of KSU, the students’ wing of the Congress, had posted a video for those who needed help during the floods.

After seeing this video, dental doctor Sujay, hailing from Chavara in Kollam district, called up Sneha regarding distribution of essentials to the flood-affected victims. And from there they embarked on a wonderful journey of love and empathy.

Sneha was always there to lend a helping hand to Sujay and his friends in their endeavor to distribute materials to flood-hit people and clean houses after the waters receded.

Initially, both their families were against the relationship but finally they gave the nod and Sujay got engaged to Sneha on February 15. They were planning to marry on Kerala flood’s first anniversary but had to postpone due to non-availability of wedding halls.
