Kochi: The Kerala Lalithakala Akademi has launched three solo painting exhibitions at the Durbar Hall Art Gallery in Kochi, each offering a distinct lens into themes of memory, nature, and existential reflection. Akhil Mohan, an artist from the agrarian village of Ramamangalam, presents 'All That Remains is the Line and the Grain'. His work is a heartfelt tribute to rural life, depicting the textures of paddy fields, the rhythm of the land, and the bond of community. The exhibition is curated by Dr Sudheesh Kottembram.

T R Udayakumar’s exhibition, 'Dreamscapes of the Real', curated by Bipin Balachandran, invites viewers into a surreal world where humans appear detached from the animals, birds, and landscapes surrounding them, posing silent, unanswered riddles about belonging and alienation.

Sukesan Kanka’s paintings, part of 'Of Burdens and Beings' curated by M L Johny, are visually striking. One canvas portrays PPE-clad figures carrying a body through the lush greenery of the pandemic era, while another captures a woman in quiet contemplation, seen through the tinted glass of a wooden window, blurring the line between the inner and outer worlds.

The exhibitions were inaugurated by Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Chairman Murali Cheeroth and will be on display until July 27.
