Thrissur: Twin brothers serving in the Kerala Police have been suspended after being hospitalised following a violent altercation over a long-standing property dispute. The suspended officers are Special Branch Grade SI Dileep Kumar and his twin brother Pradeep Kumar, a Grade SI at Pazhayannur Police Station, both natives of Chelakode in Chelakkara.

Disciplinary action was taken after it emerged that their repeated clashes, stemming from a boundary dispute involving right of way, drainage, and waste dumping, had tarnished the image of the police force. Sources said the brothers have had multiple confrontations in the past, some resulting in injuries that required medical attention.

The latest scuffle reportedly broke out over waste dumped on a common pathway and ended with both men being admitted to hospital.
