Kozhikode: Construction of the toll plaza on the Ramanattukara– Vengalam stretch of the National Highway has been completed. The final stages of the work, including cable laying and finishing touches, are currently underway. Tender proceedings have begun for collecting toll at the newly established facility.

The toll plaza has been set up on two sides of the highway at Mambuzhappalam North and Koodathumpara in Pantheerankavu. The toll booth towards Thondayad from Ramanattukara and the one in the opposite direction are located approximately 250 meters apart. Each plaza is equipped with toll booths across five lanes.

Signage indicating toll rates has been installed at strategic distances including 1 kilometre, 500 metres, 200 metres and 100 metres before each booth to alert drivers in advance.

The Koodathumpara toll plaza is located at a crucial junction where the Palakkad–Kozhikode Highway converges with National Highway 66, which is currently being upgraded to a four-lane corridor. The first trumpet junction in the state is also being constructed between the two toll booths here.
